The Problem:

Every year, birdhouses are constantly throw away due to being left outside and deteriorating in the harsh winter months. This issue takes the birds cozy home and puts it in a landfill.

The Solution:

Design a fully slot-jointed birdhouse with no hardware so that it can be taken apart and easily stored. When disassembled, the birdhouse is able to be stored completely flat to save space. The use of individual pieces allow old or broken pieces to be easily replaced rather than purchasing a whole new birdhouse.

Meet Fred!

Fred is a house finch who is born and raised in the gorgeous state of West Virginia. Fred enjoys relaxing in a nice sheltered area while laying on a nice soft bed. While relaxing, Fred enjoys being in the sunlight while also enjoying a healthy balance of shade as well. In his free time, Fred loves staying active by playing and bouncing around on branches and perches.
