Spring 2025
Industrial Design Studio 1
Project Duration: 5 Weeks
Made From Recycled Skateboards
Base Made from Concrete
Features
Cultural Inspiration
During the 80's and 90's skateboarding started to become something way more than just a piece of wood with 4 wheels attached to it. It represented creativity, personal expression, and rebellion against the "societal norm". Skateboarding wasn't just something to do in your free time, it became a culture.
Material Inspiration
Plies of colored wood are layered, glued, and compressed together to create a skateboard deck
Sketching and Form Iteration
Final Form Direction
Forms took inspiration from snapped or broken skateboards while also paying homage to elements of classic skateboarding logos
